I intalled PS CS6 yesterday only to find that Btidge does not open. I've searched for answers since then and have yet to find any. I've reinstalled it just to see if that would make a difference, but it hasn't. I'm currently running Windows 7 64bit. Photoshop runs great, the only problem is with Bridge, and apparently I can't get any help from Adobe until tomorrow
Adobe Bridge CS6 will not open
How do I remove "read-only" from images transferred from a PC so that I can add keywords?
I switched to a Mac from a PC a year ago and have been using PSE 9 + Organizer with no problems. I transferred all my images from the PC at that time. Now, I want to transition to using Bridge and have been assigning keywords to the newer photos added after I started using the Mac. I am unable to assign keywords to the earlier photos because Bridge says they are read-only. I checked the Apple Get Info on the folders and they are read and write. Any ideas?
Adboe bridge crashes when restircted user tries to launch
Hi we are a school and have about 30 windows 7 pc's on a domain with the exact same problem.
When a student logs on (restricted account, of course) and tries to launch Bridge, it just crashes.
I have had a look around google and the forums and I see a lot of people with the same problem, but no real fix for the issue.
I have tried to use a path rule in Group Policy to circumvent the problem, as we have done in the past with other applications, but to no avail.
Here is the eventlog info.

I created an slideshow in Bridge...now what?
I created a slideshow in Bridge, then added it to a website built in Dreamweaver. From the browser, I get a blank page. My Safari browser has javascript enabled, and the latest Flash is installed.
I am afraid to look, but something tells me that even if I can get this working on my desktop (iMac), that the slideshow will never be viewable on an iOS device.
What are my options? How do I get this working?
thx

copy filename to iptc description
Hello,
I need to create a process of copying the filename of a tiff to the description in that same file's iptc. Ideally i'd like to be able to drop the script in to an Apple Automator process, but that would be a luxury. There's also an extra catch: i need the script to replace "=" with ":" and to add a prefix, for example "CMS:"
Here's an example:
input
filename: 8737=6.tif
description:
output
filename: 8737=6.tif
description: CMS:8737:6
It seems a faily basic process but i don't know where to start with this scripting business... Any help or advise would be much appreciated! Perhaps you know of a really similar one that i can modify??

Auto add keyword when adding photo to a collection
Is there a way to automatically add a keyword to a photo when you add that photo to a collection.
Example: When I add "Photo 1" to "Sample Collection" I would like a keyword such as "Stock" to be automatically added to the photo.
Is this possible?
Date in filenames transferred with Bridge CS6
I’ve been using Photo Downloader in Adobe Bridge CS6 to transfer my files from both SD and CompactFlash cards to the hard drive. It's set to automatically change the default filename to a date format, followed by my initials, and the exposure number, as files are transferred. Lately I noticed the date in the filename is one day behind, even though both the camera and the computer are set to today’s date, and it shows the correct date in the IPTC area.
Any suggestions on how to correct this?
Stacy
Backing up Favorites
I am running Bridge CS6 on a Mac:
I have a number of folders listed as Favorites and want to back up the list of them, so if I need to reinstall or start Bridge with factory settings, I will not have to re-add all the Favorites again.
Is there a way to backup one's Favorites? I have looked in the preference files and could not find anything labeled for Favorites. In my user library, app support, adobe, Bridge CS6 there is a folder called Favorites Alias, but it is always empty. Where are the prefs for one's Favorites stored (and how do you backup/export them?
Thanks
Bridge CS5 freezes
For the past few weeks, Bridge has repeatedly been freezing immediately after opening the program. The normal screen appears with either Favorites or Folders showing, but no thumbnails. In the lower left corner, only part of the little rotating circle shows that normally indicates Bridge is working, and it is frozen. Sometimes if I just let everything sit for 5-10 minutes, the thumbnails eventually appear, but if I click on another folder it freezes again.
I have repeated trashed the Preferences and rebooted the computer, but it coninues to happen. Any suggestions on what else I can try?
MacBookPro (early 2008, Core 2 Duo), OS Lion 10.7.2, Bridge 4.0.5.11
Thanks,

I want to create a contact sheet in Bridge CC and there isn't an output module..
I don't seem to have the Output Module for Bridge CC. I read how to copy and paste it into the Bridge Extensions folder. It did copy it, and it did add "output" to my menu bar but the content area is blank, so I cannot pick my PDF output options for a contact sheet. I even uninstalled Bridge CC and re-installed it. I was hoping the update included the Output Module, but it didn't. Any suggestions?

I installed Design Premium CS5 last week and tried Bridge today. It worked fine and then suddenly whenever I open it, I keep getting this window. I close the window, but it appears again after a few seconds. I can still use Bridge, but the window won't go away.

Working with Windows offline files
Hello,
I'm desperately trying to make Adobe bridge and other applications work faster on our company's graphics design team's computer. They work with files off a company NAS drive and loading and saving files is slow. I've enabled Windows offline files for the entire folder containing their work and synchronised it to a test computer; all their files are now also stored locally. However, they're reporting that Bridge loads even slower than before. I'm out of ideas; those files need to be available to all 3 members of our design team but I still need to make loading and working with said files faster.
Does anyone have any ideas or has anyone else tried adobe products with Windows offline files?
can't open files in Camera Raw while in Bridge CS6
05/30/2014
Believe this issue/problem happened after automatic update from Adobe (but can't be sure).
Have always uploaded files from camera into Bridge then do some editing by opening JPEG and RAW (NEF) files in Camera Raw from Bridge.
Now, "Open in Camera Raw" is greyed out and I am unable to find a way to open files with Camera Raw from inside Bridge CS6. This seemed to happen suddenly and without any new software or applications being added to computer. All other apps/software working well.
Have tried various fixes found on Adobe community discussions without success. Problem now ongoing for over a week +.
Am able to open files in Photoshop with no problem but want to be able to do some quick edits using Camera Raw opening files from Bridge CS6.
I'm using Bridge CS6 Version 5.0.2.4. (as part of Adobe Creative Suite 6). Updater states I have most current version of Bridge installed.
I'm using an iMac computer with Intel Core i7 processor
OS X 10.8.5
Have found others with this same or very similar problems on forums but either can't understand patches/directions or unable to complete instructions on my computer.
for example see: Camera RAW update issue with Bridge CS6
From that link/discussion, one finds this "solution":
After you update to Camera Raw 8.4, Bridge CS6 in Mac OS doesn't display image metadata or allow you to edit images in Camera Raw.
- Exit Adobe Bridge.
- Download the file below.
- Locate and double-click the downloaded file to decompress it. The resulting file is Camera Raw.plugin.
- Navigate to the Macintosh HD folder.
- Open the Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CS6/File Formats folder.
IMPORTANT: Navigate to the root Library folder on your hard disk, not the Library folder under your user folder. - Copy the Camera Raw.plugin from step 3 into the File Formats folder.
IMPORTANT: This new file overwrites the file already in this folder. It's important that only one Camera Raw.plugin file is in this folder. - Open Adobe Bridge.
However, when I try the above, I have these issues:
1. When I double click on the downloaded file, my computer opens PhotoShop and an error message is displayed that states "Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type of file." (I suspect this may mean my computer has automatically decompressed the file, but I am not certain of that).
2. Not completely certain I know how to "Navigate to the Macintosh HD folder" as suggested in step 4. above (OK, I'm new to Mac; long-time PC user….)
3. When I am in "Finder" and click on "GO" while holding down "Option" key, I find "Library". within that, I can find "Library/Application Support/Adobe" but there is no "Plug-Ins" folder within the "Adobe" subfolder.
4. Not sure how to tell if I am in the "root Library" on my hard disk vs. "Library under my user folder". (Again, new to Mac….)
I have NOT yet tried doing an "Uninstall" and then Re-installing the whole Adobe Creative Suite 6 and would like to avoid that if possible.
Would absolutely LOVE it if Adobe would simply push an update that would fix this problem or if someone would explain to me how I could restore the earlier version that worked perfectly for me.
Any help, suggestions (in very basic, simple terms that any idiot new to the world of Macintosh can understand) would be appreciated. Very frustrated with Adobe at the moment.
Mostly have liked the switch to Mac, but with this and my photo workflow coming to a screeching halt, having second thoughts. (But I suppose Adobe update for PC may cause problems as well.)
Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.
