I'm having trouble with certain functions in Bridge 64 bit, the current one with CC2014. In particular the Auto Stack and related items. When I select a set of files and go to AutoStack, I get a “missing preview data “ flag. At that point, I cannot get out of the loop except to kill Bridge in Processes. Using Esc only cycles through all the files it wants to stack which is way beyond the actual number of images selected. Searching Help, I get a link to a script to load and use, which requires the user to be familiar with that script language.
What set this off was an attempt to run a 6 panel panorama. I ran a couple of versions and after clearing all except one from PS, I went back and started the process again. I suddenly got that message when I attempted to run Photomerge. Not only that, I noticed that in Bridge Preview, all the changes I did in ACR were missing from the preview, reverting to Default ACR settings, including the thumbs which showed the corrections from ACR. I rebooted the computer but no change. So I selected an image that had not been corrected in ACR saved it and looked at it in Bridge. The change held.
The only way I could correct the corrupted previews was to open all the pano frames in ACR and moving any slider one unit, like sharp from 23 to 24 and select “Done”. Now the corrections show properly.
I haven't been able to completely re-create this Preview anomaly so I likely hit a specific key unintended which caused this effect to occur (SWAG here!)
I hoped I could go back to an earlier Bridge to see how that worked but the only version available is the current one, unlike PS, where I can run cc2014 or CC 14.2.1.
I don't like what I am seeing as I continue to explore current CC2014 operations. It seems that we have been offered something like an RC or maybe even beta. I have problems with a number of details which I have posted on PS, ACR and now Bridge forums.
I would urge Adobe to offer a comprehensive log file collection. I would suggest that say 5 to 7 days of data be held which would cycle through and keep only the most recent set so when we have a problem which dos not yield to normal problem solving, we can zip and send them on to Engineering. I use a program which provides just that and it is quite satisfying to get feedback from their engineering, which in more than one occurrence became an issue for which an effective update resulted. No fuss, no muss. Ship the file and we are done with it until an answer is forthcoming.
I am running Win 7 64 bit , 4 core cpu, Ati 7000 series video

Adobe Bridge, CS5 crashes when starting up. I downloaded Photoshop CS5 Extended, installed it on my new MacBook Air (this computer has never seen any CSx product). Installed the CS5 serial number, installed the SC4 legacy serial number, all is well. Photoshop runs fine. I installed all my Nik plugins and Bokeh Plugin. All is well. I tried running Bridge, and it crashes during the launch "The operation could not be completed. An unknown operating system error has occurred." Adobe released an update, which I downloaded, but during installation, it too crashed (couldn't perform the update and provided a link to Adobe support.
Fours hours later with Adobe. Tried:
1) Deleting the PLIST file for Bridge, no luck.
2) Tried the Option Bridge trick to reset all preferences in Bridge, no luck.
3) Created a new Admin account, logged into it, Bridge worked.
4) Adobe technical help said it is now an Apple problem since the program worked with the new admin account.
5) Apple said pound sand, it's an Adobe program, it should work regardless of which admin account.
6) Back to Adobe, talked to third level (still tier 1) person, it's an Apple problem. He suggested deactivating Photoshop, un-install Photoshop, run a clean script (which I just downloaded but haven't tried) which will wipe out any files that has to do with CS5 that the un-install program doesn't un-install (totally logical), re-download and re-install everything, again (I haven't tried this yet).
Doing a Google search for Bridge crashing while opening reveals a frightening amount of comments with people having similar problems (don't even get me started about Adobe Air).
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Arnie...
Is there a way yet to save a picture without metadata?
If not, why not?
I am running Bridge CS6 on a Mac:
I have a number of folders listed as Favorites and want to back up the list of them, so if I need to reinstall or start Bridge with factory settings, I will not have to re-add all the Favorites again.
Is there a way to backup one's Favorites? I have looked in the preference files and could not find anything labeled for Favorites. In my user library, app support, adobe, Bridge CS6 there is a folder called Favorites Alias, but it is always empty. Where are the prefs for one's Favorites stored (and how do you backup/export them?
Thanks
How to make jpegs of a batch tiff-files?
Just got CC three days ago. Now opening Bridge gets this error message:
The procedure entry point AMTRecordCodecInvocation could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Bridge CC (64BIT) Bridge.exe.
is it normal that Bridge don't generate thumbnails from SVG files ? and can't add xmp metadatas ?
Thanks
Our Bridge has been acting very strange. It keeps giving a dialog box of "Bridge encountered a problem and is unable to read the cache. ... purge central cache" For one, I can't find the central cache and two, I've purged the cache in bridge. Shouldn't that help? There's just all kinds of weird stuff going on. I suppose it does have something to do with the central cache, so maybe someone can tell me where to find it.
When I use the burn/dodge tool sometimes it drags and staggers and takes forever to complete whatever I'm burning/dodging. When I try to delete an image from the dock, it won't disappear but it won't display either.
Any help would be appreciated.
I tried to "move to" a folder from my desktop to a flash drive. Not all of the files moved but they are now missing from their original location. Tried to use the "find" and searched the trash. They are nowhere to be found. Please help!
For the past few weeks, Bridge has repeatedly been freezing immediately after opening the program. The normal screen appears with either Favorites or Folders showing, but no thumbnails. In the lower left corner, only part of the little rotating circle shows that normally indicates Bridge is working, and it is frozen. Sometimes if I just let everything sit for 5-10 minutes, the thumbnails eventually appear, but if I click on another folder it freezes again.
I have repeated trashed the Preferences and rebooted the computer, but it coninues to happen. Any suggestions on what else I can try?
MacBookPro (early 2008, Core 2 Duo), OS Lion 10.7.2, Bridge 4.0.5.11

Please help. I have purchased a new macbook pro, anf have already purchased the adobe photoshop and lightroom package. I have downloaded installed apps from creative cloud and both are working. But although I have installed Bridge CC, it will not open. I try to open it from the laumchpad and get the error message 'the operation could not be completed'. i dont understand why and i am getting extremely frustrated. Please help
Yesterday I upgraded to Photoshop CS6 using an install disk mailed from Adobe. Photoshop CS6 itself appears to be working fine, but both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Bridge CS6 crash on startup with the standard Windows popup ("Adobe Bridge CS6 has stopped working. Windows is searching for a solution..."). Bridge CS5 still works great, as it did before the CS6 installation.
The Windows Event Viewer shows the following message for the crash of the 64-bit version:

I've rebooted multiple times and tried reinstalling from the upgrade disk, but the problem persists.
The installation is on a machine dedicated to Photoshop whose system info is included below. I'm running a multi-disk setup with 1 SSD as my C drive, another SSD for Temp and Scratch (in different partitions on the same SSD), and a RAID 5 array of hard drives for the actual image files. To my knowledge I'm running with the latest drivers of everything.
I'm not sure how to move forward at this point. Any information or assistance would be most appreciated.
David

Is there a way to automatically add a keyword to a photo when you add that photo to a collection.
Example: When I add "Photo 1" to "Sample Collection" I would like a keyword such as "Stock" to be automatically added to the photo.
Is this possible?
I am so sick and tired of getting this error message when I try to create a pdf contact sheet - undefined is not an object. Can someone help me?
What frustrates me the is there is no log file telling me what image has the problem which Bridge does not like.
This example is of brand new eps files that were created in the last month
I also have the same undefined object is not an object using AI files but none are shown in this example.
If there is no solution to tell me what eps or ai file(s) bridge does not like - is there a setting I can change so Bridge skips the file it does not like? Sorta silly skipping a file for a contact sheet but if that is a workaround to make it bridge work that would be a huge improvement versus the program not working at all, LOL...
1. I have tried using another program to rename all my files to be sequential numbers too, so that is taking more time and I am losing the ability to find my files by name and I still get the undefined is not an object.
2. I am to the point of using other programs to create jpeg images of AI and EPS files and then using bridge to make contact sheets and doing that takes a ton more time and is just silly to do so now I am to the point of asking for help.
3. Operating system is Wondows 7 - I use CS6 - Adobe Bridge for making contact sheets - screen shoot is attached - all CS6 items are up to date with updates.
4. Yes, I have searched the internet for help and searched adobe for help --- seems like no one has posted a solution.
Problem - Images in the Content panel look dull and desaturated. The view of the same image in the Preview Panel, as well as Photoshop CC, looks fine (ie, like I expect from working with these images in CS6). This applies to NEF, JPEG and PSD files. In the attached screenshot, note the distinct lack of red in the skin tones in the Content Panel compared to Preview. Blues look a little dull as well. This is a PSD file. This image is tagged sRGB, verified in the Metadata panel as well as in Photoshop CC.
I have read similar threads here (where all of Bridge was dull and desaturated), but I don't see anything that mentions the two panels in Bridge displaying images differently.
Background - 10 years as a pro photographer, and I know what I'm doing around a Mac and color management. I finally "upgraded" from CS6 to CC when I got my new Mac.
System -
Retina iMac w/Yosemite. Second monitor - HP LP2475w (Bridge sits on the HP monitor)
Both monitors have profiles generated with an i1 Display and the i1 Profiler application.
Both monitors are using their correct profiles
Steps Already taken (condensed)
1. Purge cache (multiple times throughout the process).
2. Check color cache and cache permissions.
3. Reinstall Bridge at the behest of Adobe support, even though this was a new install.
4. Check that "Always high quality" thumbnails is checked in Bridge (this seems to have no effect either way).
5. Check color settings - NA GP2 in Bridge. Interestingly, the same behavior is exhibited no matter what I select here.
6. Drag Bridge to the iMac display - everything now looks good. Drag back - now BOTH Content and Preview are desaturated. Will stay like this until Bridge is restarted.
7. Recalibrate the HP (Bridge) monitor. No change in behavior.
8. Verify no sidecar xmp for this image, to rule out ACR in the problem.
9. Open Output module to verify that the content panel looks the same way there (it does).
10. Investigate ~user/Library/Caches/Adobe/Bridge CC/Cache/ folders. Wow, the preview for this particular image in /1024/xxxx LOOKS CORRECT (like it does in the Preview panel). So Bridge IS generating high quality previews correctly.
Thoughts -
1. This seems unlikely to be a monitor profile issue. Bridge itself is displaying the same PSD two different ways. A bad profile would make everything on that monitor look wrong, wouldn't it?
2. Some of my images sit on an external drive, but the screenshot here is from the internal mac drive, to try and rule that out.
3. It's not some strange issue with the HP monitor not displaying color evenly across it's surface - if it were, than the screenshot would not show the difference between the panels. I also moved the Bridge window around the display to further verify that color is the same across the whole panel.
4. Maybe Bridge ignores the profile for the content panel - but in the case of no profile, it assumes sRGB (or does it?) which is exactly what this image is. I have tried this with Adobe RGB images and the same behavior is exhibited.
5. Previews are being generated correctly, but do not seem to be what is read off disc to display in the Content Panel.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. My gut feeling is that for some reason, Bridge is not showing me the saved high quality preview in the Content panel. But why?
Hello,
I need to create a process of copying the filename of a tiff to the description in that same file's iptc. Ideally i'd like to be able to drop the script in to an Apple Automator process, but that would be a luxury. There's also an extra catch: i need the script to replace "=" with ":" and to add a prefix, for example "CMS:"
Here's an example:
input
filename: 8737=6.tif
description:
output
filename: 8737=6.tif
description: CMS:8737:6
It seems a faily basic process but i don't know where to start with this scripting business... Any help or advise would be much appreciated! Perhaps you know of a really similar one that i can modify??

Does anybody knows what do do?
Hi together,
since yesterday Bridge shows *some* JPGs in a destroyed preview (or no preview).
Screenshot of the Bridge preview panel:
The curiosity:
I have deleted all the Bridge Cache (manually in "users/library/caches/...."), also the exported cache files in the affected folders.
Then copied the affected files to another folder and renamed them all, hope that Bridge "forged" some preferences I might have not deleted.
I started Bridge new with Option-key and reseted all preferences and all "Caches".
Result: => No affect: The previews are generated new in the same wrong kind as before. For some JPEG-files there are no preview rendered.
Of course these files are all correct, I can open it in Photoshop or in Mac Preview – but in the Camera Raw Window the files are show destroyed.
It drives me crazy because all other folders are not affected – and also no RAW-files are affected, so the ACR seem correct working.
Searching in the web brought no results for me in this special case.
Perhaps anyone of you have a clue?
Thanks in advance!
Juergen
